IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Information for Parents/Carers:

Ysgol Rhosnesni is closed to students until further notice. Children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response (who cannot be safely cared for at home) are entitled to provision.  However, it is imperative that, as far as possible, we minimise social contact and ensure that anyone who is particularly vulnerable to the virus is able to adopt stringent social distancing.  This means that if children can stay safely in their home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

Children of Key Workers will be supervised on site if necessary.  If you require your child to attend, please contact reception in advance to discuss your circumstances. Tel: 01978 340840.

We will continue to follow Welsh Government and Public Health Guidelines and will continue to update information as this becomes available.

Please continue to check the school website.  We will communicate with parents via the usual methods of school contact with updated information as it becomes available.

Description:

Dear Parents and Carers of St Mary's,

In conjunction with Mr Droog, the Chair of Governors, we have made the decision to CLOSE St Mary's on Friday 20th March at 3:15pm, until further notice. Should parents wish to keep their child/ren home after today, we completely understand. However, by closing on Friday, we hope that it will give families a little more time to plan childcare and make arrangements with their own workplaces.

As a school, we have already shared our 'Remote Home Learning Plan' to ensure continuity of learning for all children. Seesaw will be our main form of communication with parents and to signpost children to their daily learning plan and other relevant digital learning platforms. The school website and Twitter will also be used to keep our school family in touch.

All children who were in school today have also received a resource pack to support their learning at home. If your child is absent from school, please arrange for someone to collect the resource pack from school. These will be available from the main reception office until Friday afternoon. After this time, they may be collected from Cool Kids' Club. (Please note:- Packs must be collected by someone who is NOT self- isolating due to CORONAVIRUS symptoms either themselves or a family member)

Cool Kids' Club will remain OPEN until they are advised otherwise. Please contact Miss Mary Anna O'Connell (CK Coordinator) on 07985900660/661 should you wish to book your child into club. Opening times 7:30a.m.- 6pm.

Once again, I thank you all for your patience, support, prayers and understanding at this very difficult time.

If you have any questions, queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact school and we will do our best to help you based on the information we have to date.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs R F Acton
